Rugby Club Ljubljana Hosts Partners of the “Rugby for Children” Project at the Fourth Mobility Visit Meeting

As part of the “Rugby for Children” project, the fourth and final Mobility Visit meeting was held, hosted by Rugby Club Ljubljana on April 22 and 23. The event gathered representatives from all partner clubs: Rugby Club Dragon Brno, Rugby Club Zagreb, Rugby Club Dubrovnik, and Superkid Zagreb.
On the first day, the hosts guided their guests through the beautiful city of Ljubljana, where they enjoyed sightseeing and exploring local landmarks. The day concluded with a shared dinner and an exchange of ideas on how clubs could strengthen their position and visibility within their communities.

The following day, hosts Robert Puconja and Damjan Volavšek opened the meeting with a presentation on the history of rugby in Slovenia. Founded in 1962, Rugby Club Ljubljana has a long tradition and a strong record of achievements in regional competitions.
The partners were introduced to the club’s structure, coaching staff, and competitive organization. The meeting continued with a tour of the club’s facilities — including locker rooms, a gym, meeting rooms, and social spaces — which left an excellent impression. During the SWOT analysis, participants concluded that the club’s main strengths lie in its strong enthusiasm and involvement of former players and volunteers, an established network of regional cooperation, high-quality facilities, and a rich tradition.
Looking ahead, the club emphasized its commitment to developing youth rugby and attracting more children to the sport — a goal that all partner clubs share as a top priority.

After the formal meeting, the hosts organized a lunch and social gathering that lasted throughout the afternoon. The partners agreed that such events and experience exchanges are highly beneficial for all involved and should be organized more frequently.
