Saturday, May 19, will remain a wonderful memory for all of us — and not just for us, but also for our guests from Sisak, England, and Serbia. The matches were very competitive and a real treat for the crowd, with all results being quite close. The veterans from Farnham and Partizan showed great determination and produced several beautiful plays. 

After the competition, everyone enjoyed food from two large grills prepared all day by our Jurić and Šuklje. Draft beer from the Medvedgrad Brewery flowed freely, adding the perfect touch to a sunny but pleasantly mild day at Rudeš. Later, live music — keyboards, violin, and guitar, accompanied by beautiful vocals — gave the evening a magical atmosphere, making us feel for a moment as if we were on the terrace of a seaside resort. It’s hard to list all the wonderful moments from Saturday. 

One of them was certainly the ceremonial kickoff performed by the daughters of our dear Zdenko Jajčević. Another was the group singing led by Gec, or the victorious Zagreb “Bab-šik”… all these and many more beautiful memories will stay with us. And since our memory isn’t what it used to be, thankfully we had the ever-reliable Berislav Rožman to capture nearly everything with his camera. Thanks to our guests, all senior and junior players, and friends of the club who helped organize the event — and we say: see you next year!
