Match Announcement: Zagreb vs Invictus
Another exciting rugby weekend is ahead of us — this time featuring Zagreb’s second team, the Zagreb Blues, and the U18 selection of Rugby Club Zagreb.
To start things off, on Saturday the Blue Lions will, for the first time in club history, host the newly established team from Dubrovnik as part of the 2nd Croatian Rugby League. Although the Blues are playing out of competition and are considered favorites, they surely won’t give the visiting team any breathing room. On the other hand, the players of Invictus are coming to Rudeš eager to prove that the founding of a rugby club in Dubrovnik was no coincidence. We can therefore expect a tough and exciting match full of attractive moves. The Blues — with their mix of young talent, veterans, and first-team players hungry to prove themselves — will certainly look to live up to the high standards set by their loyal supporters.
On Sunday, we’ll be treated to a U18 showdown in the Croatian Cup Final between coach Hrvoje Bartolić’s young, energetic Lions and Nada’s promising rising stars. We can expect a tense, thrilling match until the final whistle, and we hope the golden U18 generation lifts the trophy for the second year in a row.
There’s no reason not to come to Rudeš and cheer for your team — whether you’re a Blues supporter or a fan of free-flowing youth rugby.
