Rugby Club Zagreb Players Win the Beach Trophy Tournament in Klagenfurt!

The players of Rugby Club Zagreb achieved an outstanding international success by winning the beach rugby tournament held on July 12–13 in Klagenfurt, Austria. Competing among eight teams from Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia, the Zagreb side demonstrated dominance and excellent play throughout the entire event.
The tournament was divided into two stages: the group phase and the finals. On the first day, RK Zagreb played three group matches — and won all three — defeating teams from Berlin (Germany), Italy, and Austria to advance confidently into the semifinals.

On the second day, the semifinals and final took place. Although the team started the semifinal a bit slower — as the players joked, “the days were long, and the nights even longer” — they controlled the match comfortably and secured their spot in the final.
In the final match, Zagreb faced their familiar rivals and neighbors, Olimpija from Ljubljana. The Slovenians put up a strong fight and delivered a quality performance, but despite the pressure, RK Zagreb remained composed and focused until the end. Showing determination, teamwork, and excellent technical skill, they claimed victory and the well-deserved trophy. Team captain Leon Burazorović had the honor of lifting the cup and celebrating this success with his teammates.

The tournament was exceptionally well-organized, with a fantastic atmosphere full of sportsmanship, exciting plays, and great energy. Spectators enjoyed this dynamic and entertaining form of beach rugby, which combines speed, agility, and endurance.
