An interesting article shares the life story told by our very own Peni Ratu Taloga Madanawa!

"Do you work at this restaurant?" he asked when they met him.

"No," replied the journalist. "I’m a reporter, and I came to interview you."

"Oh, I thought I was going to a job interview for the restaurant, haha!"

That little moment at the start of the story perfectly captures Peni’s modesty — he couldn’t believe someone wanted to interview him for the media and not for a job.

The reason? Ratu Peni Taloga Madanawa (21) is the first athlete ever to come to Croatia from Fiji — the Pacific archipelago located 16,500 kilometers away and 12 time zones apart. Or as Peni says: “The other side of the world.”
